Daoist Internal Arts
I was born on China’s eastern shore in a small coastal mountain village in Zhejiang Province, where the sun’s rays first touch the Chinese mainland, and began practicing Qigong and Taiji at an early age. Inspired by the immediate strengthening effects of these trainings, I committed myself to the life-long practice of the ancient arts of internal cultivation and the study of classical Chinese arts – Qigong/Neigong, Taiji, internal martial arts, Chinese medicine, astrology, cosmology, Yijing science, talisman calligraphy, traditional Chinese GuQin music – and have had the great honor of studying with the highest level masters of these fields.
As a lifelong Daoist practitioner, my calling as a teacher of Chinese wisdom traditions began in 1988, when I was recruited by the regional Qigong association to train Qigong instructors. Since then, I have worked with thousands of practitioners and patients seeking healing, throughout China, North America and Europe.
I also enjoy writing, and have authored numerous articles and 14 books (5 in Chinese) on China’s ancient life sciences.
I currently offer three types of private sessions:
- External-Qi Healing with Sound Healing: This ancient method for strengthening inner power and healing originated several thousand years ago in China. We see the body as a Qi (vital energy) network, and maintain that we experience health and healing if the Qi is free-flowing within this network. This gentle technique can be effective for people who suffer from body pain, who are struggling emotionally, who have compromised immune function or organ function, and more.
- Daoist Healing Arts Consultation (for personal or business): With decades of experience, I use diverse Daoist healing arts to provide consultations for clients:
a. Chinese Astrology: Chinese Astrology is based on ancient Chinese cosmology and Five Elements Theory. Each individualized chart is a life reading that gives insight into a person’s/business’s past, present, and future. Through the chart, one can obtain guidance about health, career, relationships, success and more.
b. FengShui: Fengshui is a branch of the Yijing divination system that studies cosmological and geological influences on our vitality and prosperity. Like the Yijing, to master the art of traditional Fengshui, one must hold great knowledge of Xiang 象 (symbolism) and Shu 數 (numerology). I provide Fengshui consultations to support people through challenging times, before making big, life changing decisions, and to make specific life style recommendations that help improve health, quality of life, relationships and business success.
c. Yijing: The Yijing (I Ching) has been used in China for thousands of years, is considered to be the root of ancient Chinese science and civilization, and can also be used to gain deep insights into the practice of Chinese medicine, spiritual cultivation, martial arts, and the rhythms of Nature and of our daily lives. It contains three layers of wisdom: Xiang 象 (symbolism), Shu 數 (numerology), and Li 理 (philosophy). In the West, most versions of the Yijing only discuss Li, or philosophy, and offer little in terms of practical application of Yijing wisdom. As with my FengShui consultations, I offer Yijing consultations to support people through challenging times, before making big, life changing decisions, and to make specific life style recommendations that help improve health, quality of life, relationships and business success. My book, Seeking the Spirit of the Book of Changehas been recognized as “…one of the finest interpretations of the I CHING [Yijing] on the planet.”
- Training in Daoist Arts: Authentic Daoist arts model the Dao, the Great Way of Nature. Through daily cultivation of any of these traditional movement arts, practitioners find themselves able to understand how to rejuvenate their life source, live with peaceful heart-mind, and even achieve enlightenment. I offer courses, training programs and private sessions in the following movement arts: Chinese Astrology, Chinese talisman calligraphy, ChaDao (Dao of Tea), Dai Family XinYi internal martial arts, GuQin music, FengShui, Taiji from the Hidden Immortal Lineage, Qigong from the Dragon Gate and EMei Shamanic Traditions, Yijing Divination.
